Ingredients:
- 4 cups flour (maida)
- 1/4 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons corn flour
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1/4 cup sugar (powdered)
Preparation:
- Mix 4 cups flour with salt and add just enough water to make a soft
dough. Divide it into 6 portions and keep it aside.
- Mix corn flour and ghee to form a paste..
- Roll out each portion of the dough into a large, thin chapattis.
Apply corn flour paste to one chapatti, sprinkle a little flour over it and
cover with another chapatti, pressing the edges firmly.
- Using both hands turn the double chapatti into a long roll and keep
it aside. Make 2 more rolls in this way.
- Take a knife and cut each roll into ½ inch or 1 inch slices. Sprinkle
a little flour on the board; roll out each slice flat, about 3 inches long.
Roll them out on the dry side and not on the layered paste side.
- Heat oil on a medium flame and deep fry.
- Spread them out on a sheet of brown or butter paper and sprinkle
sugar on either side of each piece.
