Parish Events

 

Parish Feast:
A week of festivities, which is rounded off with a grand fiesta. The youth of the parish organise events & competitions during the week & a social gathering on the Feast Day. The parish feast is looked forward to by all the parishioners with much gusto.

Parents Day:
A gesture of appreciation towards our parents. Starts of with the Eucharistic Celebration followed by a get-together in the church hall, which includes games, dancing, performances (skits/ singing/ dance item etc.) & dinner.

Savion Hip Hop:
This is a fund raising social organised by the S.Y.M. (youth group) on 15th of August every year. Profits is kept aside for the various Reach Out programs.

Christmas Ball:
In the spirit of Christmas a dance organised for both young & old parishioners. This is one of the highlights of the Christmas Season wherein people get together and dance, enjoy and make merry. The event is subsidized as our parishioners sponsor this event.

Republic Bash:
This is also another social which is organised on 26th of January every year & is open to all. Both the Savion Hip Hop and the Republic Bash are well attended by the youth from all over Mumbai.

Reach Out:
Our youth group would not be complete without this event. This is one of the principal events of the youth group. With much excitement our youth reached out to the slums of our parish and distribute clothes, soaps, biscuits and sweets. Also the money collected from the various events organised by the youth is used to provide scholarships to the poor children of our parish.

Night Vigil:
The All Night Vigil is organised by the Youth Group and various associations of the parish in December. This helps us to enhance our spirituality. The Vigil is depicted in the form of action songs, prayer dances, and skits. It also included testimonies, praise and worship, interactions, reflections and holy mass.

Children's Day:
The children's day that falls on the 14th of November is celebrated with the Holy Eucharistic followed by lighting of firecrackers on the church terrace. The youth organises games and refreshments for the Winter Club members.

Summer Club:
The main sponsors of this event are Colgate Palmolive. The Summer Club is looked forward to by all the children of our parish. It is held during the months of April, May, and June during the summer vacations. The youth are present every day to organise games for these kids. The participants are provided with T-shirts and an attendance card which is signed everyday after morning Mass. The kids with good attendance are rewarded during the closing ceremony. Activities include gospel sharing, games, competitions (singing, fancy-dress, craft, dancing, drawing, etc.) & picnics. During the closing ceremony prominent personalities are invited to share their experiences with the kids. The winners of the various competitions are rewarded and every participant is given a prize for their active participation which is sponsored by Colgate Palmolive. There is also an evening club organised for the youth of the parish.

Winter Club:
The activities are same as that of the summer club. It is held for 3 weeks during the Diwali Holidays. Once a week the youth provide refreshments for the kids. This event also ends with a grand closing ceremony followed by the lighting of crackers.

Mission Sunday:
A charitable event conducted by the involvement of the different communities. The funds thus collected by organising various games stalls, auction, music and delicious eatables stalls are handed over to the Missionaries who who keep traveling around to spread the good news of the Lord.

Christmas Tree:
Christmas is a very special day enmarked in the catholic calendar. The Children's Christmas Tree function is organised by the youth of our Parish. The most exiting part of the day is the arrival of Santa Claus whom the kids love very much to dance with. Each and every kid is finally gifted by Santa Claus who thereafter greets them goodbye.

Poor Childrens Sponshorships:
Part of the profits which were collected by organising various events are given to the Bombay Catholic Sabha in recognition of the achievements in studies by the poor children of our Parish.

Sunday Cafetaria:
The Sunday Cafetaria is organised every Sunday where snacks like patice, samosas, sannas, cutlets are sold in our Church premises.

Music Rendezvous:
A singing competition organised by the Savion Youth Movement to recognise the talent present among the young and the old. An event open to all parishes who wish to participate.
